Hello :-)

Hello and thank you for visiting my blogger. I hope to come here occasionally to share with others who may be interested in the same things I am. Life, art, family, friends, faith, and encouragement. I mainly share my artwork with others because most say that's what I do best. It's a wonderful journey being an artist. Sometimes very challenging. Most times very rewarding! Love meeting new people.

Since 1990 I have been using an airbrush as a tool to render artwork. I thank God for this tool and the ability to be able to use it. Even though my teacher Dru Blair would say, "It's so damn easy!" I would have to say it sorry, it definitely is not. For so many days I sat in my chair trying to figure out this tool and it's application because I loved the art so much...

When I first saw an airbrush artist's work in 1985 on the boardwalk in Florida, I said, "That's it!" I found what art form I would do and diligently pursued it since.

Fast forward to 2012. Here I am sole proprietor of His Painter Airbrush since 2003. Website also started www.hispainter.com It came into being because of more people wanting my artwork and other artists and friends saying I should start my own business. When I hear other 'artists' say that they give away their artwork for free, I remember hearing an older artist calling them 'paint whores'. Strong words, but now I know what he meant. He meant it devalues the hard work of working artists, when we work so hard to achieve for others.

Years ago I almost lost all my fingers while helping my husband change his flat tire. He told me to keep the new tire in place while he used the jack to keep the car up. Something inside said "NO!" so I let go of the tire. He yelled at me to keep the tire in place. So I complied. Suddenly the jack popped out from beneath the car, pinning my fingers on both hands underneath the wheel well and the tire. I screamed!

Out came 3 men from the houses nearby. They helped lift the car up. My fingers were bent backwards in a U shape. One of the guys pushed me in his truck as he raced to the nearest hospital. I kept praying, "Jesus, please heal me..." All that I could think of was not being able to paint again. Maybe others would think of not being able to do other things. But I'm an artist, my hands are needed to work.

After a while, I kept trying to work with my hands. Eventually I could make a fist. Amazed how God totally healed me, I showed the driver of the truck. In disbelief, he continued driving. He finally slowed down enough to realize that I was okay. Then turned the truck around to go back to our car. So that is why my business name is His Painter Airbrush.

"What is man that you are mindful of him..." (Psalms 8:4) I think of this verse sometimes. So thankful that God thought of me enough to heal me and hear my prayer. He cares for us more than we can imagine or think.
